Hay Local Environmental Plan (LEP) 2011

Planning at Hay is subject to the overview of the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act. Council’s planning controls are the Hay Local Environmental Plan 2011 and relevant policies.

The Local Planning Controls have to fit within the framework of various state government policies (SEPP’s). There are links that explain these SEPP’s in detail along with the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act and Regulation.

Hay Stucture Plan

The Hay Structure Plan implements the recommendations of the Hay Local Strategic Planning Statement (LSPS), which will guide land use planning decisions for residential, rural residential and industrial development within Hay for the next 20 years.

Bushfire Zones

There are designated bushfire zones in the Hay and South Hay township (following the river).

For more information on building in a bushfire area, please visit the Rural Fire Service website www.rfs.nsw.gov.au.
