Important Flood Advice – Update 7 December 2022

Update - 7 December 2022 (11.30am)

Current River height: 7.65m and falling slowly. The water is steady in Maude and steady in Booligal. We are expecting large inflows from the lower Mirrool Creek and Lachlan River over the coming days and week, with an expected peak of 3.4m in Booligal mid-December.
🌤 Rainfall: The forecast next week looks favourable, with possible shower on Sunday.
Predicted River Peak: The BOM website advice is the Murrumbidgee River stay below major flood level (8.0m), however the river level is likely to remain above the moderate flood level (7.50 m) over the next few days.
Flood Levee: Closed off 4 flood gates and have 3 pumps in Hay set up accordingly to remove any water from rainfall. Flood gates and drainage pipes will be opened as allowed as the river falls. We ask for patience as staff start pumps to remove water built up from any rainfall, especially if have there is short sharp rainfall event.
Council crews: Continuing to monitor the levees and inspecting known hot spots, and have staff patrolling during the day and at night only as required. You will continue to notice Council staff patrolling the town, checking and running pumps, and opening gates and culverts as allowed.
