Flood Updates from Hay Shire Council 

Important Flood Advice – Update 15 December 2022

Update 15 December 2022 (11:00am)

Current River height: 5.16m and falling quickly. The water is steady in Maude and steady in Booligal (3.2m). We are expecting continued inflows from the lower Mirrool Creek and Lachlan River over the coming days, with an expected peak now of 3.2m in Booligal this week. Water is falling in Hillston.
☀️ Rainfall: The forecast this week looks favourable.
Flood Levee: All flood gates are now open.
Council crews: Staff have undertaken another level check in Booligal today with all OK in the village.

⚠️ Road Closures: The following roads are closed due to water over road or due to flood damage, however local residents can still access with caution;
🔸 West Burrabogie Road
🔸 Old Thelangerin Road
🔸 Alma Road
🔸 Daisy Plains Road
🔸 Mutherumbung Road
🔸 Booligal Gunbar Road
🔸 Boxyards Road
🔸 Nap Nap Road
🔸 Toopuntal Road
🔸 Wongalea Road

Closed to all traffic:
🚫 Maude Road from the Sturt Highway to Moulamein.
🚫 Cobb Highway north of Booligal is closed.

☑️ Maude Road between Hay and Maude is OPEN
☑️ Maude Road between the Sturt Highway at Ravensworth and Maude Township is OPEN
☑️ Ti Tree Road is OPEN
☑️ Sidonia Road is OPEN
☑️ Lara Road is OPEN
☑️ Yurdyilla Road is OPEN
☑️ Oxley Road is OPEN
☑️ Romani Road is OPEN
☑️ Belaley Road is OPEN
☑️ Glenhope Road is OPEN
☑️ Hay Weir Road is OPEN
☑️ Murrumbidgee River Road is OPEN

⚠️ We remind people to drive to the conditions and that water can create hidden hazards on the roads.

Road Repairs: Council staff are out inspecting roads as access allows, and currently resourcing road emergency repair works when conditions suit. Grader crews have been be deployed out to rural areas, as well as sealed road repairs have commenced.

❌Please do not attempt to cross or drive through floodwaters or along/across the top of the levee bank system.
Please only rely on official advice provided by the SES and/or Hay Shire Council.
