Flood Updates from Hay Shire Council
Disposal of Waste Tyres Temporarily Ceased
Hay Shire Council advises residents that the acceptance for disposal of all waste tyres has temporarily ceased at all Councils Waste Disposal Sites. This decision follows a recent assessment by NSW EPA of the facility’s storage procedures. This will also allow Council the opportunity to review how residents can responsibly dispose of waste tyres through better procedure and policy. The timeframe for re-accepting tyres is unknown at this stage.
It is important that waste tyres are stored in a safe manner. Correct storage will reduce risks to safety, human health and the environment. Incorrect storage will also create a significant financial risk for property owners and occupiers.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused. If you have any questions regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact General Manager David Webb on 02 6990 1100.
